Abortion Rights: The Right to Women's Bodies

It's been a year since Roe V Wade was overturned. And yet, you'll see plenty of people still arguing that abortion is murder, or are happy with this result. But again, as I have asked before, I will ask again, is this really the correct way to handle this issue? Making choices about women and their bodies a game of politics?

The way I see it, abortion rights became an issue because of its moral conflict with religion, with the concept that all life is sacred. That's why so many people believe that abortion is murder no matter how old the fetus is. But is anyone thinking long-term about the consequences of forced pregnancies?

Forcing a woman to go through 9 months of labor and take care of her child without her consent, will only cause this mother to develop negative emotions towards her own child. Whether we choose to acknowledge it or not, a mother with negative emotions will end up abusing their own children physically and/or mentally. Heck, the woman might commit suicide while the child is still young.

And even if you present adoption as an option, the child will still question why they were given up for adoption. And if they find out that they were an unwanted child, how do you expect that not to affect them?

I'm not going to go in-depth about how negative of an effect a forced pregnancy can have on a mother and her child. I've done it in my previous posts. But I'm writing this post because I want everyone to remember that by reversing Roe v Wade, and not reinforcing it, we will never be able to move forward towards a future where the concept of equality truly exists in a modern world.
